With that, let's get straight to the Q&A then!
-------------------------
I did actually wonder how underwater bases would work... and I got the answer! Underwater bases will use a special 'Tek' tier of structures which are made to be waterproof and vacuum-sealed. A device will provide oxygen to the enclosed base, and an airlock can be built as a point of access that will not flood the base! This is great for a mobile water base on an Elasmosaurus as well!
Bioluminescent creatures will come to the game, especially in the oceans! Jellyfish and prehistoric anglerfish will be some of the animals providing some light in the depths!
More melee weaponry will be added, including knives, swords and shields! There will be three tiers of shields which can be used together with most other melee weapons!
Survivors will be able to pick up the Mesopithecus, possibly having it ride on their backs! This can potentially be done with other small animals like the Dodo as well!
Breeding and raising of creatures is a feature that'll be coming in September! More info about breeding and genetics systems will be revealed as we approach the feature's release!
Apart from more roars, attacks and other fancy stuff to be added to the creatures, there will be vast improvements made to their AI as well! This includes more dino-specific behaviours and attacks, both when they are being ridden and not!
Scuba gear will be arriving later in August, which includes goggles! The gear will help you see better, swim faster, breathe for longer periods of time, among other benefits!
After the Swamp and Snow Biomes are added, the bosses, caves, sci-fi tier and Ascension process will be worked on!
Soon, survivors will be able to get their hands on a 'tree regrowth' solution which will allow them to regrow trees which were once there, but have since been chopped down and remained as such due to the 'no-grow' radius around structures.
Furniture and decorative items will be coming, and there will even be corresponding animations from interacting with them!
There will be a total of at least 4 main bosses in the game, one of which is the terrifying Broodmother!
There will be many more types of weather, including storms, hail and snow! These will have different impacts on survivors, like temperature changes and obscured vision!
Fans can all look out for ARK Merchandise which will arrive eventually!
The devs will see how the vehicle functionality plays out with modders using the driveable dune buggy, and if it goes well, fitting into the game cycle, they will see about bringing vehicles in to the game proper!
As more biomes are introduced, unique flora will also be introduced with specific berries and fruits!
Feeding narcotised food to creatures to increase both Affinity and Torpidity at the same time will likely be added to the game!
Supply drops as well as loot from slain creatures will be reworked!
The Ballista is the first of the siege weapons and will be arriving later in August! Medieval cannons could possibly be the next addition following that!
*hint hint* Giant squid! Next Wednesday! *hint hint*
More ailments will be added which require new methods to treat! The current medicine/healing system will also be modified!
A 'Deconstructor' of sorts could possibly be added which will allow survivors to dismantle their items to get some of their constituent resources!
Loads of armour as well as wacky cosmetic items for pets will be added in August!
Portable repair station for expeditions!
Teleporters will be the step up from Beds, and though they will require a lot of energy and technology, they will allow survivors to travel with items in their inventories!
*hint hint* Hyaenodon! *hint hint*
There will be some kind of respec system to allow players to reallocate points for their stats, and possibly engrams as well!
-------------------------
Hope you guys enjoyed the Highlights! Tomorrow's Dino Dossier reveal is likely to be Allosaurus, so look out for that! v194 is also arriving soon!
I have an idea for a new mini-series of DD posts! Raptors... ;)
