Hey guys! I'm sure all of you know this little bird! Dodos are a common sight on the beaches of the island, and are easy pickings for survivors and other predators alike!

Raphus replicare (more commonly known as the Dodo Bird) is quite possibly the dumbest creature I've ever seen in my life. It wanders around the beaches of the island, eating berries off bushes, and being eaten by all manner of carnivore. Without the Dodo, the whole island's food chain would disintegrate.
Domesticated
There is almost no reason to domesticate a Raphus replicare. It cannot carry enough to be a beast of burden, it does not provide much food, and it's too stupid to show companionship. I suppose it could work as a last-ditch food resource, though.
Others
This subspecies of the Dodo has developed an unbelievably clever way to sustain itself: they mate constantly. I'm fairly certain that they reach full maturity within a week of being born. This is the only trait keeping them populous on the island.

If the term 'birdbrain' had originated from ARK, it would have been because of the Dodos. They are just such dim-witted animals!
They are very slow creatures, and do not pose a threat at all, though they do give chase and attempt to attack any egg-stealers, as futile as that is.
Resources From Harvesting
Harvesting the body of a dead Dodo gives you a small amount of Raw Meat and Hide. This makes them a poor source of these resources, but are good targets for beginners and anyone not looking for violence.
Taming Methods [to be updated once taming system is enhanced]
As mentioned above, there is little reason for one to tame a Dodo. However, it is completely possible to do so, and this can be done by knocking them out.
Doing this using your fists or a Slingshot would be best. Since they have little health, using anything more may very well kill them.
Food [to be updated once taming system is enhanced]
Dodos are herbivorous, and consume all manner of berries.
Since the taming time of Dodos is relatively short, survivors may not bother to feed them anything more than berries to speed up the process. However, if one chooses to do so, it is possible that Kibbles does exactly that.
Utility
Dodos, being plentiful, are quite expendable. This makes it practical to use them as mobile bombs, by rigging them with explosives.
Since Dodos are relatively easy to find and tame, survivors can make a Dodo farm, where a huge bunch of Dodos are placed in a coop. Their eggs and poop can then be collected for food-related and agricultural purposes respectively. They can also be slaughtered for food when necessary.
